🍄 Savoury Mushroom Gravy: A Perfect Companion for Your Dishes 🍄

Try our savoury mushroom gravy—rich, flavourful, and perfect for any meal! 


Ingredients: 



  • 500g mushrooms: Finely sliced 

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter 

  • 2 tbsp olive oil 

  • 1 onion: Finely chopped 

  • 3 garlic cloves: Minced 

  • 2 tbsp plain flour 

  • 2 cups beef broth/stock 

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 

  • 1 tsp soy sauce 

  • Salt and pepper: To taste 

  • Optional: Fresh thyme or parsley 


Instructions: 

  1. Prepare Mushrooms:

    Clean and slice/chop finely. 

  1. Cook

  • Heat butter and oil over medium-high heat. 

  • Add onions, cook until soft (3-4 mins). 

  • Add garlic, cook until fragrant (1 min). 

  • Add mushrooms, cook until golden brown (8-10 mins). 

  1. Make Roux: Sprinkle flour, cook for 1-2 mins. 

  1. Add Broth: Pour in broth, stir to avoid lumps. 

  • Add Worcestershire and soy sauce. 

  1. Simmer: Simmer 5-10 mins until thickened. Adjust with broth if needed. 

  1. Season: Add salt, pepper, and optional herbs. 

  1. Serve: Over mashed potatoes, meats, veggies, or biscuits. 


Tips: 

  • Use mixed mushrooms for depth. 

  • Adjust thickness with broth. 

  • Store in fridge (3 days) or freezer (1 month)
